Lasagna Love? It's a real thing.

Some of you may have heard of this happening somewhere in your area/community/city/whatever. It has spread to some other countries in the last few years, since it started in the US.
Lasagna Love is a way to cheer others, to help, to provide one meal for someone who is struggling. It is all done on a volunteer basis, and has many, many volunteers who make, and deliver, a dinner and such to the recipient. I think it's pretty neat, it brings people together and it is a good way to show that there are people out there who care.
I was the recipient of a wonderful lasagna, homemade bread, salad, and a dessert, when my son had his accident. Until then, I was not really aware of what this movement is. A friend put my name in, I was contacted, and it was delivered...it really cheered up my son and myself. Since then, I have made a few lasagnas, and hopefully the people who received them, enjoyed them.
Maybe you would like to read about it, or possibly do this, or even just sign up to receive a lasagna dinner as you need a pick-me-up.
''Lasagna Love is a global nonprofit and grassroots movement that aims to positively impact communities by connecting neighbors with neighbors through homemade meal delivery. We also seek to eliminate stigmas associated with asking for help when it is needed most. Our mission is simple: feed families, spread kindness, and strengthen communities.''
Basically, this is a little way to spread some kindness and goodwill...who knows? Maybe you will make a friend or two...or just make someone's day.

that is such a sweet way to help others and show kindness. i don't think there's such movement in Bosnia.
we have tv show called "Make my wish come true" and people send letters to the makers of the show, saying about someone's wishes or needs and the tv crew visits them and "makes their wish come true".
there were some where a girl would like to have a dog and then she gets it.
but there were also ones about families who got nothing to eat, who don't have a home and similar. at the end there's a phone line you can call to donate money for them.

And that's the main thing, to try to just lift each other up a bit.

It’s a really good way to cheer people up when life happens…it’s not just for people struggling financially, it’s a great way to just make someone’s day, for sure. Fresh out of the hospital, it was a wonderful treat for my son.

@MarieCoyle I just saw on Facebook that there's a lady who makes pans of lasagna then sets them out on her porch. People in need or want go and pick up her pans of lasagna for free. I love such efforts at helping others. Just love it.

In most ways, I think the Lasagna Love thing is sort of a way to lift people up, to cheer. Yes, they do make many lasagna dinners for people in need, but I get the impression that it was started as just a way to cheer people. Either way, it helps, it lets people know that they are cared about and loved. I am all in for anything that promotes positivity these days. I know you feel the same.

@MarieCoyle And the realisation that someone cared enough to do it would mean just as much as the meal.

I agree. I don't think some of us realize that some people basically have no family, or are alone, or could simply use a little boost.

I think it is, too. Just a good pick-me-up for those who really need one!

How nice. It used to be that neighborhoods knew one another quite well and did such things just to be neighborly. I'm glad to see it seems to be cycling back around.

I hope you do look it up, and make a request for it. I didn't request mine, it was done because we had been at the hospital for so long and a friend signed me up to give us a night off from cooking. But whatever the reason, it's a nice thing to do. You don't pay or have to do the same for anyone, it's all ''no strings attached'' type of thing.
