The caravan has been delivered

We sold the caravan and agreed to tow it to the buyer’s property in Gidgegannup, another wonderful West Australian town name. We didn’t ask anything about the place. We just knew he had a few acres there. When we arrived, we were appalled to find it was all bush with a roughly graded gravel track which led down quite a steep gradient to VERY rough patch of ground which didn’t have a level area at all. We were a bit stunned to think he expected us to be able to set it up under such conditions. In the end, we backed it all the way down the track and onto a part that looked as level as anywhere else. Vince’s brother came with us and we were able to put the two nearside wheels up on blocks to get it somewhere near level side to side then lowered the towbar almost to the ground. Unless he has a very good vehicle, I don’t think he will ever be able to get it out of there but that probably doesn't matter. He is going to live in it while he develops his block. He was a lovely Chinese man who overcame horrors during Mao’s regime. He has been out here 31 years but he doesn’t seem to have many practical skills. But we’ve delivered the caravan as promised and have set it up so we move on. The top photo shows the track that Vince had to negotiate going backwards and the lower photo shows the caravan set up.

Yes, it is nice to have that part finished with. Vince's brother has bought the car we had to sell so now we can look for a motor-home.

I think you are right. With some, you'd think they were really using you but I think he just didn't appreciate how difficult it would be. We had a very nice 'thank you' letter from him today.

It will be quite comfortable to live in and I think it will be years before he manages to build a house.
