What mostly one sees is turmeric powder sold in shops But I grow my own turmeric
I have uploaded an image where you can see turmeric rhizomes along with the plants. These rhizomes are removed washed adn then boiled.
The boiled turmeric rhizomes are thinly sliced and kept in the sun to dry for atleast 8 days
They are then put in a blender to make turmeric powder
When we first started growing turmeric I had just one plant that I picked up from my mother's garden. I let it grow and all the rhizomes that I got were removed and planted separately. Next year I uprooted again and once again planted those rhizomes. There were enough to cover more than 200 feet of the area.
The rhizomes that I obtained from them weighted 20 kilos but what I got as powder was just 2 kilos

it's so cool that you can grow your own turmeric. i use powder in cooking sometimes and i've heard it's also good as a face mask with some other ingredients and also that it's good for getting whiter teeth?

I am not aware of it helping to get whiter teeth but it has so many other health properties.
