Day after Thanksgiving.

We are almost out of leftovers. We polished off the dressing and ham earlier today. There's still plenty of turkey and some mashed potatoes and a bit of gravy. We finished off the chocolate silk/satin pie. There's an apple pie, one piece of sweet potato and almost all of the key lime still. We also are down to one mini loaf of pumpkin bread- but that will probably be gone by the end of the day. There isn't that much going on today. I've been doing other side hustle stuff and That 70s Show has been on on Peacock. Nothing too exciting at all. But it's all good.

Wow, I must have forgotten how much kids eat because I thought you’d have leftovers for a week. I was watching the Chiefs, but in the second quarter I fell asleep.

We may be going somewhere tomorrow, I am not sure yet. It just depends on how the plan comes together- if it comes together.

@thislittlepennyearns Our family gathering is over 23 people and we STILL take home a crapton of leftovers, and we're usually still into it for 7-10 days. Of course, it gets stretched into casseroles and soups as well. But there's always a crapton of food.

@porwest Well. I don't know what to tell you. The ham was only 5 pounds. I made one dish of dressing, about five pounds of mashed potatoes, gravy and a turkey. We still have plenty of turkey.

I haven't cooked my turkey yet. My daughter went to Utah for Thanksgiving to be with my ex's family. She got to see her two brothers and sister plus the nieces and nephews and grands thereof. They had dinner at her dad's house with her brother and father doing the cooking. She took her work computer with her so she could do some work while she was away. She also took the gifts I had for her dad and her brother with her, so they got early Christmas and birthday on Thanksgiving. My ex's birthday is the 20th of Dec. They both got funny T-shirts. She'll be home on Monday. I made deconstructed shepherds pie today. It turned out pretty good. Our oven doesn't work, so it was mashed potatoes and meat with veggies and gravy put together in a bowl. I'll make up a couple or three servings in containers. I've been eating junk all week, so this was really a good meal for me. Real food. I've been watching old shows on Prime, Tubi, and a new one on Apple TV. I finished off Moonlighting earlier this month, then began watching Scarecrow and Mrs. King. Then discovered Remington Steele. Found a new show on Apple called Shrinking - starring Harrison Ford. My man!! LOL And, playing catchup on two regular network shows in Paramount - Ghosts, Elsbeth and Matlock with Kathy Bates. I keep hoping someone will pick up So Help Me Todd so I can continue that as well. Meant to post this part as a new post, but I'll just copy and paste it instead.

Plenty of cooked leftover turkey calls for the infamous turkey pot pie here, as well as often turkey noodle soup at some point in the future. Or you can always toss it in the freezer and make something with it another day. When there are kids, leftovers go very fast.
