My last post I was complaining a bit about our eye doctor appointments. I should not complain, I scheduled them. It turns out the eye doctor got sick and we had to reschedule. I was glad of that. So that left us with only an early appointment at the VA on Wednesday morning. It was on the way to our destination, so that was good. Traffic was not bad for about half the trip, but then it picked up. This is said to be the busiest Thanksgiving in years as far as travel goes. My sister in law had invited her brothers and their families but due to some work difficulties they could not come. Because of expecting them we had chosen to use the church kitchen to prepare. It was handy, because it is large. I peeled ten pounds of potatoes, and mashed them on Thanksgiving. Because we were using the church the church members were invited to come if they wanted to. So we had a pretty big turn out all the way around. Just fourteen of us were family, then we had about the same in church members. Lots of people of many ages. Bob had not refilled his medicine tray so that seriously affected our intent to come back. We came back today so he would not miss too many doses. I think everyone was shopping and not traveling. The trip home was very pleasant. We stopped at an A&W Root Beer restaurant for a burger, fries and root beer, of course. Tonight I got the Swiss Chicken leftovers out and we had that as well as some of my home made cranberry sauce, and hot coffee. There was still enough that I set aside enough for one meal, and packed three servings for my week next week. I love to see my family but I am glad to be at home. I had my tablet with me, but when I would try to be online the internet was sketchy and I could not successfully do much here.
