I was shifting from my back to my side just after 1 AM. when I felt a slight jolt, But nothing after the jolt. "What was that? Oh, a minor earthquake." I didn't bother to get out of bed to check on it until just now Turns out it was a 2.7 with the epicenter a couple of mikes South of here. Have you ever felt an earthquake? I was still living in Iowa when the 1989 World Series earthquake hit Northern California. I have felt a bunch of smaller 'quakes here, but nothing like that.

Yes! We had an earthquake on my birthday in 2008. It felt like a truck hit the house.

@MarieCoyle — I can imagine it was much worse for you because you were a lot closer to the epicenter. I don’t think there was any damage reported in Louisville, but the news came on not too long after the second jolt and reported it.

@MarieCoyle I wonder how they sensed it coming.

I "felt" a small one. I say "felt" because my uncle didn't believe me.

Yes, that 6.4 East Coast Earthquake was centered in this county. The aftershocks scared me more than the quake itself. They were fairly intense as well. I think there was just a small 2.4 quake when we were gone for Thanksgiving.

Wow, that must have been a bit surprising in the middle of the night! A 2.7 quake is usually pretty mild, but it’s always interesting to feel one, especially when you’re half asleep and trying to figure out what’s going on. It’s good that it didn’t cause any issues, though!

I lived in California for a few years. I have felt some awesome earthquakes, scary as all get out. You will know if the quake is enough to get up and check. My brother's house was on fire during the 1989 quake. The neighbors put it out with a hose or two. There was a lot of damage in that quake. I could not call him for days or over a week because the lines were out. I think it was before most people had smartphones.
