Christmas memories #3 Baby's first Christmas

Our son Robert was fifteen months old at his second Christmas. Dale and I were a young couple with our first child, but excited to play Santa. Our tree was a small table top tree that I lovingly decorated. Robert had been walking for several months already and one morning I was in our tiny kitchen when I heard a commotion in the living room. I ran in to see the tree on it's side with two little fat legs standing underneath it! He wasn't hurt and I think we put a little fence or maybe his play pen in front of the tree to prevent a repeat performance. He had big blue eyes, blond hair, and the sweetest little angelic face that was way too pretty for a baby boy. That was such a special Christmas and Santa brought him several fun toys. My aunt and uncle sent him his first tree ornaments (a little deer and a snowman) that have been on our tree every year since. Wonderful memories!

Those are wonderful memories indeed. I really think Christmas' are best if there are children around.

Our youngest grandchild is now 15 and even our great granddaughter is 9, so no babies.

@kareng I did all my shopping online this year...just can't do a lot of walking. I'm making goodies to give also. I have pistachio fudge and chocolate/peanut butter fudge in the freezer and plan to make sugared peanuts with that thousand dollar bag of peanuts, lol.

@1creekgirl I love to remember the past Christmas, particularly the ones when both my parents were still alive.

Good thing he wasn't hurt, and I am sure this is a story that makes a reappearance around the Christmas table time and time again.
