Wednesday Coffee Talk

Happy Wednesday Everyone! it's overcast and cold here this morning. Woke up to a dusting of snow but it's melting now but still looks and feels like more could be coming. Yesterday just disappeared and I didn't have much time to spend here nor write a post. I had to wait for the repairman to come look at my refrigerator. The online notification said he would arrive between 8 & 9 am. At 9 he called to say he would arrive by 11am. So, naturally he got here pretty much at 11. To make a long story short, the fridge is fixed and it was expensive. Oh well, such is life. Mid afternoon my neighbor rang my bell and had a pretty gift box filled with homemade cookies. I invited her in, we had tea and chatted for awhile and caught up on some neighborhood gossip . She and two other families are the only ones left (and me of course) that are original homeowners. So many of our neighbors have moved. She is thinking of moving too but probably not until her sons are finished with high school. My oldest daughter came over last night for our Tuesday night girls night. It was fun as always and by the time she went home I was ready for bed (11pm) So, I'm here this morning with my coffee and plenty of intentions of chatting and enjoying quality time with my friends here. I'm making a small lasagna for dinner (yum) What's new and exciting with you today?

Nothing new and exciting happening here, although we our first snwfall of the season overnight... not a great amount but I'm on the shady side of the street. It is slowly melting across the street where it managed to soak up a bit of sun yesterday. I'm glad I don't have to go out today. Currently 0°C/32°F and getting quite breezy.

We're reached that time of year when snow is inevitable. I don't mind small amounts but blizzards and high accumulations are not my thing,

Overcast here, cold and rain is suppose to come. Having a slow day, back hurts but not much. When I feel the twinge I sat down. Glad you had a nice time with your daughter and neighbor.

Back aches are horrible. I can certainly sympathize since I have back issues occasionally.

Hope your apartment shop does well today. We're supposed to get some light snow overnight but no accumulations. Hope the forecast is right but my knees are saying snow

You make a small lasagna? You've peaked my interest. I make mine in an 8 by 8 square, but I am thinking that a loaf pan would suffice for the 2 of us. Now you've got me determined to find a way to downsize what I make.

@Marilynda1225 I like to get the dishes really dirty by cooking once and then reheating. I should pick up another loaf pan so that I can do the same amount of lasagna, but in 2 pans and freeze 1 of them. But I am pretty sure that I will not be out and about to pick up another pan until after the holidays. My shopping and wrapping is all done, except for 1 delivery which is due on Monday.

I make mine in a square 8x8 Pyrex and then freeze the leftovers. Cook once, eat twice is my motto these days I bet a loaf pan would work very well for just the 2 of you You'll have to let me know how it works if you try it

We are off to a concert this evening so that's pretty exciting for us. The band is really popular in Germany but I think it originated in Australia.

It keeps s**wing here. We will get a reprieve on Sunday through Tuesday when the temps will be in the upper 40s. Then back down to the 30s and s**w for Wednesday. I've had to have the drive plowed 3 times so far. That gets expensive. That was nice of your neighbor to bring cookies and great that you got to spend time with your daughter. Have a good day.

fixing these things is expensive everywhere. my friend's mom refused to pay for her washing machine to get fixed and she found a video on youtube and fixed it herself. so cool tuesday night - girl night sounds like a nice tradition

Nothing new exciting here. I bought a new fridge three weeks ago. I have used the previous fridge for 25 years. Too expensive to repair. Better buy a new one.

Same stuff, different day for me. Mostly. Finished my latest host volunteering on December 1st and been camping for a few days. Internet, WiFi, cell service is in and out here. Will be like that for a bit longer where I'm headed tomorrow but around the 20th or so, will be back in business.
