I couldn’t believe my ears.

I walked into my dad’s house about a month ago, and I could hear music in his office. Diana (his wife), hurriedly told me to get into his office so I could hear it. Not knowing what “it” was, I began to hear a familiar, pretty alto aligned with my dad singing, “If I get there before you do, I’ll be looking for you. For I’ll just wait till the Lord calls me home. We’ve had victory and tears, we’ve been blessed with many years, bound with love I’ll be waiting for you.” Remember a few months ago I heard my late mom’s voice on a recording someone had of my mom talking? I hadn’t heard the whole thing. There was a duet of my parents singing that song, and I had the blessing of hearing it one more time, with my dad singing his part live. For those of you unfamiliar, my mom was diagnosed with dementia at the age of 46, and she died at 55. This recording just set my soul free. When it was over, I told my dad I was surprised he wasn’t crying (because I was). He said he probably would be if I wasn’t there. This happened about a month ago like I said, but I couldn’t put it into words until now. What a blessing.

@AmbiePam I have the software on my work computer but if he can send it to you I'm sure you can save it. I do have a program for when I do my cricut projects that I can turn it into art and a something that you scan with your phone and it plays. But I'm so glad you have that.

You last 3 words say it all-what a blessing. I am so happy for you and for your family that you have this recording. I cannot imagine how many others wish that they did also of loved ones lost. I hope that as your nieces and nephew come up in age, and learn a little more about Gramma, they are able to hear the recording and make more of a connection than just 'hearing' about her or seeing her photos.

Early onset dementia runs in her side of the family, but not THAT young. They can’t say why it came so early for her. She always was in poor health, but no one anticipated that.

That was a wonderful thing for you, I know how emotional that can be, As I already mentioned over the holidays I will want to watch some of my old home movies but when I hear my husband's voice man oh man but I still manage to watch some of them, When it gets too much I switch to something else,
