what makes you "different"?

Judy Evans comes up with interesting "history" related posts at times...rather the environment related post. Maluse used to give some insights into WWII. She even mentioned that they couldn't afford stalking so they used to paint their legs...in those days...it was a huge surprise for me.

@vandana7 i started following her some time ago and so far the discussions are very open and leave space for other people's thoughts. i remember Maluse, she had some "serious" discussions. do you know where is she? i don't see her around anymore

oh yes, people being open and honest here is on a different level. i guess it's because we don't know each other and it's easier to share because of that. nobody here judges anyone, or know anyone we're talking about. we're all trying to understand the person posting and show support or give advice. i love that too i rarely skip the post, no matter the topic. i only skip ones from people that never even reacted to my attempts to interact with them. maybe that's "rude", but i think it's fair enough

@MarieCoyle that's it. and sometimes i feel so weird when i see that the person is actually responding to others, but not me. like --- why?? what's wrong with me??

@aureategloom Yes, it’s fair enough. That has happened to me as well, where I faithfully commented on a person’s post and they never, ever comment on mine. So be it, after a while, people are going to stop commenting on those kind of posts. It’s all about interaction, after all.

@aureategloom I have a list of places to visit, but right now is not the best time of the year to get out and about

i've been following you for a month maybe and i noticed that you also don't post much. hope to see more of your discussions in future, i want to read something historically quirky i never liked history in school, so not much of it has stuck to my brain. and now i want to re-learn and learn more

most of us share about our daily lives here and that's fine. i feel like "i know" people here. i noticed the posts where you talk about things you read about, i like those too

thank you for sharing. you're right, you bring all the things you mentioned. i noticed that you put effort when you're making discussions and responding, you always put the words so well and share your thoughts in more than just a few words. i really appreciate that i also noticed that you're one of the members who don't post about their lives here and i think that is admirable - because we all have things happening in our lives that we can post about, but it takes some time to think of the topic to discuss about and that is not already posted. you're doing a great job with that too. on the other hand - i understand why some of us post about our lives. i honestly feel the need to be more "open" as well. there's not a lot of us here and we're all like a small community. it's good to know about each other, more than just our myLot names and locations. i think knowing about each other and the things we're dealing with can help us to understand each other better and improve our interaction

@aureategloom I could think of posting once ina while about my personal life , but not on what i had for breakfast , lunch or dinner. Rather interesting insights or fun times or thought provoking times. Thank you!

i don't know when you were here, but i think i could agree with you. back in 2020-2022 there were more people who were posting "real discussions". i don't mind this new concept of myLot because it makes it easier to interact. discussing takes more time to think and put your thoughts in words - specially for us, non-native English speakers and about discussions, i really don't think that the topic matters much, or maybe it does. i feel like the length of your presence here and the time when you post your discussion matter the most, but maybe i'm wrong

@aureategloom I had a different account over 10 years ago but I deleted it and took a break for a long time due to stuff going on in my life. I only recently came back and it is less active here. I wish there were more people like it used to be.

i noticed that people here have their own "circles" and sometimes i feel like intruder, but what can i do? this is site where we're supposed to interact with each other. i remember your fun facts about Thanksgiving (that fun facts part was partly about you )

it is interesting to hear stories from different people. honestly, i never thought i'd be reading about someone making a big Christmas party like you. i find those posts really interesting and i'm so happy for you. i noticed that you like sharing photos of different moments - those kids, garden, peacocks...

i feel like myLot is safe site for sharing, we're mostly using nicknames, most of us don't post ourselves, but only stories in our lives. i appreciate your responses on my discussions and our interaction

i try my best to do that, i think it brings more energy and fun to this site. what's the thing you like about myLot? what do you think you're bringing to myLot community?

and that's what i remember you for. i really listen to the songs you share because i love music and i love discovering new songs. even if it's the genre i don't usually listen to. thank you for sharing these songs and interesting stories about singers and from your own life

@aureategloom In diaries, we discuss topics too, mostly being our emotions or whatever we want to write down, just like mylot

i agree, a lot of us see it as a diary, but it's supposed to be for "discussing" certain topics. what matters the most is that we're all having a good time here and supporting each other. i agree, we can learn form each other and our different circumstances and experiences

i don't remember seeing you before, but i'll make sure to check out what your discussions are about and if i can relate in any way. from what you said, i feel like these topics would be very serious and different from the things we usually post about. thank you for sharing

i'm sorry about your previous experience, but as you said - we're all older and wiser now. misunderstandings happen and that's fine. i don't see you here too often, but once you get used to this site, i think you'll really enjoy it

interacting with people worldwide is one of the greatest things here. from my experience - you do bring entertainment and positive energy

i like those too, specially traveling and stories about own experiences. many times i can relate and it's good to know that you're not "the only one" and that there' someone just like you somewhere else in the world. thank you for sharing

i like reading about different cultures as well and i agree with you - some people here really are amazing and warm
