What Was For Dinner Tonight?

I tried to put up a post a few minutes ago, but it got wiped out and poof, gone. So, I decided to try a new post on a different topic! Food! Dinner tonight! I made a nice spaghetti sauce that had the perfect balance of onions, garlic, bell pepper and other spices. Using fresh ingredients makes a big difference in flavor and happy to have garlic on hand and also bell pepper in the freezer from the garden. I served over pasta and that was the quick and easy dinner for tonight. No sides, no veggies. The hubby was happy, so that made me happy. What did you have for dinner tonight? I don't fix it very often here because if we eat it too late, one of us gets acid reflux.

@Ronrybs Yum! We have got to find a decent pizza parlor around here! Nothing in our town or neighboring town that is great! Going to widen the search!!

I am more on snacks than dinner - fresh fruits and dry fruits. and a hot mug of milk in the night with a boiled egg.

I hope you and your family enjoyed the dinner. I and my whole family is vegetarian. I'm the only one in my family who eat once a day.Only dinner that consists of rice or chapatis with lentils; beans and some green vegetables. All in a little amount; and a glass of hot;sweet cow milk mixed with honey. That's enough for me to survive.

I try to stay away from there. The last couple of times we have stopped while on the road and out of town, the food has not been very good.

That sounds really delicious. I made a roast of beef, mashed potatoes, gravy, glazed carrots and we had apple pie for dessert. A typical Sunday supper around here.

@Bensen32 We enjoy it too! Just not for dinner usually since the red sauce usually gives one or both of us acid reflux.

Homemade spaghetti sauce is always better than anything that comes from a can or a jar, and when I make spaghetti, I always use my own recipe. For dinner we had our Thanksgiving dinner family get together, and we had all the typical fare you'd expect. We always have ham and turkey.

I agree on the homemade spaghetti sauce! But that is also true for most things vs. canned. Sounds like a great get together!

@kareng When I make lasagna, for whatever reason, I use canned or jarred sauce. But never with spaghetti. It was a ton of fun and good eats as usual.

You are absolutely right; using fresh ingredients is much better as they make a significant difference in flavor! Last night, I had bread and tuna for dinner, Kareng. :)

That looks great and delicious. No sides or veggies needed , when you have made this very well. For me , I had burger and fries . Well, I reached home late and wanted something quick as I wanted to go to bed early and well I had no choice to get the burger and fries. Any other chocie would have taken longer time and I did not think I had the patience. Plus , I was in no mood to ook after a very hectic day. It was a nice restaurant and specialized in grilled items. The burger and fries were good , not as great as Mcdonalds but still worth the money. You have a great day ahead!

We enjoyed it! I don't make it often since we both have acid reflux and not something we can eat late in the day for dinner either.
