Fun with my boys today.

The two red-headed boys (aged about 8 and 10) who played at our Guitar Center Showcase had their lessons with me today.
Both seemed satisfied with their performances this past Sunday.
Both have ADHD, and I can tell their mother is pretty frustrated with them. Sometimes I am glad I have only a cat to deal with here at this point.
But once I closed the door and we focused on music, each of them did well.
The 8-year-old piano student and I worked on reading and writing music, and co-wrote "Sad and Happy Mary," a version of Mary Had a Little Lamb that had both minor (sad) and major (happy) chords in the left hand.
The 10-year-old guitar student and I figured out the "power chords" to a rock song he brought in. We practiced them, and I sent him home with "tab," so he could continue to practice them over the week.
My other students also made progress.
I hear my bed calling, even if I am not that tired. I hope Kitty does not develop anorexia. I just told her she is looking mighty chubby right now.
Sigh.

@LadyDuck I spoil her. I was walking with a pretty French girl at abut 3:30 AM this morning. We were discussing Mozart and Bach. I could see Notre Dame across the river. I turned to kiss her. "Meow meow meow!" I gave her some dry food. When I got Back to sleep, the French girl was gone.

i used to explain major and minor the same way - happy and sad. i used to make "games" with that, like day and night. i don't know if that's the thing in US

I call deep bass nots "grandpa notes" and high treble notes "baby note." Ir "lighting." With my younger students, I sometimes say "You do lightning and I'll do thunder." Or "Let's let a baby do Carol of the Bells." That way we can move the same piece up and down the keyboard.

Oh, I hope Kitty is ‘fixed.’ Or else you will have many bosses instead of just one!

Having one child with ADHD would be bad enough but two would have any Mum frustrated and tired.
