I have been intrigued by hoar frosts since I was a child. It's a bit different from the usual, boring frost. It is a deposit of ice crystals on objects which are exposed to the fresh air such as a blade of grass or a leaf. Hoar frost occurs when air is brought to its frost point by cooling, resulting in a white layer of ice that looks like frozen needles.
It can be beautiful depending on what the frozen object is and how much of it has become hoar frost.

@celticeagle At school we all giggled when a teacher spoke of hoar frost. I know, I know!

@xFiacre Years ago my Dad had a chronic cough. I knew that hoarhound candy would help. There was a candy store at a nearby mall. It was my Dad so I went in there and asked if they had any "hoarhound" candy?? The young clerk just stared at me before she said no.

I have gotten some weird looks and the occasional odd comment when I mentioned it too.
