Firefighters rescue a small dog from a bayou

Firefighters in Texas rescue a small dog near a bayou.

Thanks to the efforts of groundskeeper Fernando Vivanco who was alerted by a passerby that a chihuahua who was perched on a concrete support beam for a pedestrian bridge in the Houston Botanic Garden on Friday November 29 aka Black Friday. Fernando who was concerned that the chihuahua would be attacked by alligators that were in the Sims Bayou and the cold weather that would have harmed the dog contacted the firefighters to see if they could rescue the dog. A firefighter with the Houston Fire Department managed to rescue the dog who is female and answers to the name Burbie was taken to the home of Judy Hausler who is an independent animal rescuer and transporter for a day before Burbie was reunited with her owner. First if all, God bless the souls involved in rescuing Burbie especially the fireman who risked his life to save the dog. Little surprised the owner did not find the dog missing or perhaps that was not mentioned. Smaller dogs like chihuahua and small animals often is a risk in waters where alligators are there. We should fences arpund such places to protect the little animals. Well, as usual such news brings us hope in humanity and is a better motivating news than some of the ones I read around the globe. You have a great weekend!
