Good Eats Corn

I tend to prefer frozen corn over canned, so I generally buy Great Value frozen corn in a 2-pound package for around $2.48 at Walmart. One of our favorite ways to eat it is cooked in the microwave with a little bit of butter or margarine, and a little sprinkling of this amazing seasoning blend I found at a BBQ shop a couple of towns over that I actually use on several things. We have had it on baked potatoes, used it to season meats, and of course, use it with frozen corn and it's just really good eats. It's basically Heath Riles garlic butter seasoning and it's just really good. Generally, I throw the corn into a small casserole dish, put it in the microwave and cook for about five minutes, take it out, give it a bit of a stir, then cook it for another five minutes and voila! It's delicious corn and a fabulous side. How do you make your corn?

You microwave frozen corn for TEN MINUTES? That is nuts. And margarine? Seriously? That's as bad as Miracle Whip. My favorite way to have corn is as elotes. Second favorite way is grilled. I love it all ways though including homemade creamed corn. Yum.

Yep. That's how I do it. Five and five with an interval in between. Most of the time I will use butter, but I do use margarine from time to time. It just depends. To me there is nothing wrong with margarine, although I do prefer real butter, unsalted. When I used to eat corn on the cob, my favorite way to cook it was on the grill, ears on.

I agree with you on caned corn. It tastes like the can to me! I also buy frozen and cook it in butter, either on the stove or microwave. It just depends on my mood and what else I'm cooking.

I switch back and forth as well between stovetop in a saucepan and in a casserole in the microwave. For the same reason, actually. My mood and how many burners are already in use.

I like the taste of corn on the cob, but I don't eat it that way mainly because I tend to get it caught in my teeth and it's a bit messy. But other than that, corn on the cob is good eats, no doubt. When I made it more often I liked to cook it on the grill ears on and then dredge it in butter. Yummy.

I get corn occasionally with my Meals on Wheels. Have you ever tried Morton's Nature Seasoning? I have a box of it because I worked at Morton Salt for 10 years. Have a good day.

I am pretty sure I have never used it. Maybe I have heard of it? I will look for it. Although I prefer saltless seasonings whenever I can find them. That being said, the Heath Riles one is not saltless.

@thislittlepennyearns Eat it or ate it. I guess it depends on the tense, or a speech impediment.

I used to prefer canned corn. The only thing I eat from a can anymore when it comes to vegetables are green beans and carrots. Other than that, I use frozen. I did this years ago to cut down on my sodium intake.

Oh, man, that’s just wrong. I can’t eat corn anymore because of IBS and diverticulosis. I LOVE white corn and roasted corn on the cob.

That would suck. I love corn. Hopefully I will never have to be in a position to give up foods I like. That being said, there have been things I have cut out on my own like Ramen noodles and canned veggies and red meat. In the case of red meat, I just greatly reduced my intake.
