My Door Project

My husband painted our front door maybe 15 years ago. We have lived here since 1996. The front of our home has the sun hitting it directly and it gets pretty hot. This causes the paint to eventually weather and get cracky and peel. It had started to look really bad, so I have started taking the old paint off. I am getting it ready for my husband to paint. We are going to paint it a dark grey this time. I look forward to having it look nice again. Are you doing any projects around your home ?

Not at the moment inside the house. My hubby is still working on the boat he bought from his brother. He is determined that it will be ready for the water this Spring or early Summer!

@Tampa_girl7 He has warm weather at least, but the humidity may not work in your favor!

I like grey shades. They go with other other colors so nicely.

The sun can really play havoc with paintwork. You'll enjoy having a pretty door again. Now that we've got rid of one car we might put up some more shelves in the garage.

That looks rough, I hope that you can finish stripping it down. How would it look if you just left it without repainting it or just put a Tremclad primer on it and leave it at that?

It definitely needs something on it again. It is a slow process getting the paint off. I really don’t know what I'm doing.

Will you send us an "after" picture? As you (probably) saw, I am still working on that pair of JBL L-100s. I like staining/oiling wood.

We have plenty to do, but no energy to do them. We rent so a couple of things the landlord needs to fix/replace.
