Never give up, keep moving forward.

One of the surgeries my son had from the wreck was to get his arm repaired. His shoulder and arm that were against the driver's door when the semi truck hit him, had to have several surgeries to repair.. It won't ever be as strong as it was before the wreck, but we accepted that.
Yesterday afternoon, he fell here at my house. He loses his balance once in a while, long story but it's way better than it was. He kept saying he was fine, but he fell right on that arm. Then the pain was pretty bad, so I put him in the car and we went to the ER. After some tests, we found out that he completely tore his rotator cuff (again) and after all of the inflamation and swelling, etc. goes down, it will more than likely need to be repaired. Add it to the list, I guess. There is no place to move except forward, to try to get him better.
So, we spent hours at the hospital, and drove home on wet, rather icy roads...took forever. Finally made it home at nearly 1 AM. He had a very restless night, we are both just hanging out, not doing a lot today.
When we were on the way home, he said while he was getting examined, etc. that he had a thought of when he was really little, and he fell off his bike on the sidewalk. He said, Mom, you always tried to lighten the moment by saying ''Fall down, go boom!'' which I did say for life's little tumbles--not the big ones.
I'm just glad that he tries so hard to look at the good side of things.

This particular son has always been extremely protective of me and was always helpful. Now he can’t help much and it bothers him terribly. I’m certainly not worried about that, I just want him to have a life. He is a good man with a big heart, and much loved. Thank you, Julia.

As you know... recovery is like that. a slope that's filled with ups and downs. I hope your son and you are okay now.

@MarieCoyle You won't accomplish anything by going backwards. I only wish weather had been on your side and you didn't have to drive home on ice-covered roads. But, I am thankful to learn you're safe.

We have seen many more ups and downs, and I am sure the road won't be without big bumps, We try not to look back--we're not going that way. Thank you, Kayla.

I have learned over many years of driving on ice and snow to take my time...and to watch the other guy. Some people have no sense at all, driving like idiots on ice covered roads. Thank you, Kayla.

His arm does not work very well now. They put him in a padded. Sling thing. I had to help him get his shirt on today, he just couldn’t manage it. But he did rest some, and I know rest is healing. Thank you, Karen.

He is very brave.
Until I hit up against that major depressive cement wall I keep moving forward as much as I can too.

@MarieCoyle ......Be glad you haven't. I have had it all my life. For as far back as I can remember. What's fun is to have someone you think loves you not understand or believe there's anything really wrong. That's what is fun. NOT

I have never suffered from depression, and I hope I never do. I just can't imagine it, but I know people do suffer terribly from it.

I just can't judge it as I never have experienced it, but I know people who have truly suffered from it. I'm sure sorry you do.

Oh gosh, I'm so sorry he reinjured that arm. Argh. But he seems to have such a good attitude about it! I think both he and Mom have that calm strength . . . it makes for clearer thinking too so that you can move forward - giving up is not an option. May his arm mend in time (I remember my rotator cuff issues) and hope you are getting good rest now too.

Giving up has never been an option here. I just feel badly for him, so much pain and so many surgeries. He has done well with them, some took longer to recover from than others. It's just been a long and hard haul for him.
I try hard to rest but it's hard for me sometimes. Thank you so much, Marilyn.

With positivity on his side he will soon see his arm well 'repaired' My doctor says that positivity helps in curing anything more than what he prescribes.

We try very hard to be positive around here, we really do. I wish the arm was the only thing that still needed repair from that wreck, but we WILL see this to the finish line. Thank you.

That arm has had three surgeries. The one doctor said they are not sure what they can fix and what they can't, but whatever they do, he said the arm would work better, which is the goal for now. Thank you, Eva.

Sorry to hear about his unfortunate accident, I wish him quick healing, send many blessings, and will put him in my prayers, Let me give you at least a chuckle, Around here I have to be careful with my cat Tish, She tends to get underfoot when excited about getting more food. Being completely black I don't always notice here underfoot, So for all its worse I told her if you make Mama fall down and go boom and it happened to be on you, you will know what it feels like being a pancake,

Tish could be a pancake kitty...tell her to give you room so you can continue to wait on her, like the queen she is! And that her Mama doesn't need to fall down! Take care, and thank you so much, Rasma.

I am used to the weather, but I will never get used to the way some people drive so fast on icy roads. Luckily it reached above freezing and now it’s melted, yay! And right now he is resting so that’s a good thing. Thank you so much.
