The kind of of lists are changing.

With the coming of Christmas, my lists are changing. Besides the usual grocery lists that I do online with no problem, I have a gift list, a list of meds I have to buy and another list that has to do with what I´m taking to Dixie´s.
I was going to take an eggplant pickle I always make, but decided against cooking that because I need lots of finelly diced onions for it. I discovered that it was a lot easier to make babaganough, a paste similar to hummus but with roasted eggplants instead of garbanzos.
And now that I discovered a jar full of tahini, I have enough of the most expensive ingredient to make both in no time at all.
I already bought cookies in beautiful tins for everyone. And I decided that I would not buy presents for the children. They will have a lot from their parents and grandpas so one more won´t make a difference.
Do your lists change for the Holidays?

My grandchildren are all grown ups. So I will give something to the older people.

Oh sure. I have certain things I know the kids like and I will get them. I'm sure the grandkids will enjoy having you with them for a while.

Tania will have Daniel and Diego with her this Christmas. I will not go to her house, not now, not ever. She lives in a tiny house in the south and last year the bus trip was more than what I could bear although I paid for the most expensive seats.

@marguicha .......How awful. I am not much for bus rides either. People in close proximity don't do me much good at all.

Enjoy. The older we get, the more difficult it is to make food for our guests. I used to be able to make food for 30 or more people and now 9 people is a lot.

@marguicha As we get older, a lot of things get to be beyond our powers.

My list does change for every holidays. Perhaps it is because our interests change over a period of time . The other reason is becuase of the dynamic environment we have. Sometimes, the needs and things just change especially with price rise and low income. Also, the number of items in the list. I do remember having a big list earlier. Now , I am happy to have a smaller list and simpler life. I am unable to find happiness in getting more things as I learn better financial lessons. Not sure , if things would change or get better. Well, great to know your day. Enjoy the time!

Lately I can only make food for a few people. And it tires me out a lot. This year I offered Dixie to make different dips for appetizers. I can do that in advance.

Every year in my case they also depend on what I´m able to do.

Those cookies are not very expensive and everyone loves those tins to use later with other things.

i only make reminders in my notes app about things people love and then when i get the chance i get that for them. doesn't have to be holiday.
i don't know what to think about no gifts for children, i think it's never too many for them. they would be happy
