A dead body on my driveway! / myLot

Last night I got our of the door to lock the gate and noticed this dead body on the driveway. It was swarming with ants and looked like the murder had happened less than an hour prior. I left it as is and hope it's gone by the morning. Do you know what creature it is that appears dead? PS: The title is an exaggeration. No humans were harmed in the making of this post or photograph!

It is a praying mantis from the looks of it. You had me there as if it was a person till I seen the photo.

From what I can gather, it's a praying mantis. Seems like this calls for an investigation though. Did the creature die from natural causes and the ants just got down to business clearing the body, or were the ants responsible? We need to know.
