Why do some people dress so inappropriately for the weather? It blows my mind

So, it i a bit warmer now, but earlier today it was about 39 degrees with drizzle and light rain on and off. Now, I was dresed with a Christmas sweatshirt, turtleneck shell, jeans, thick socks and fur lined crocs with smaller holes than most. Also a winter type jacket that matched my ensemble I see not one, but two men in gasp shorts...and one had flip flops on! At least they both had jackets, but really?? 80 percent of the time it is men who dress like summer most of the winter, but I have seen women do it too. My parents would have had a heart attack, if I ever dresed like that in the winter, not that I ever would. I was born with some common sense.

I know what you mean since I have seen some sporting events in the outdoors where male fans are seen in the stands being shirtless in cold weather.

@snowy22315 Most likely true that the persons who go shirtless in cold weather are drunk.

Yeah, for some that is a style, I've always wondered about that. Short, jscket, and flip flops. Go figure.

I see a lot of people without a coat in really cold weather. Haven’t seen any flip flops for awhile now, but I won’t be surprised if I do! I get too cold without dressing for winter.

"my parents would have had a heart attack, if I ever dressed like that in the winter" - same here
i guess some people just don't feel the cold like the others do.
other thing about girls is that nowadays you can find warm leggings that are skin color and it might seem like someone's wearing only skirt, but actually the girl has these leggings under and is not cold.

They look ridiculous especially the guy with the flip flops. I have seen alot of people wearing sandals though when it is maybe 40 or less.

When that happens do not look just for your peace of mind.

There’s always “one,” I guess. You have people in shorts and flip-flops during sn*w, and people in hoodies when it’s 80.

I saw two men in that shorts combo today, but I think one of them had sneakers on and not flip flops

Some people don't like wearing too many clothes as we wear in winter.

Well if they get chilled or have the beginnings of frostbite, they will be sorry.

I wouldn't have worn a combo like that yesterday if you paid me.
