After going to the ER on the 6th for stomach issues and getting fluids, I was still feeling off.
I had thought I was having issues with my right ankle again, so I had an ortho appointment booked for the 12th.
A few days later my ankles and feet started to swell severely, for no apparent reason.
After my appointment on the 12th which was at a hospital I knew well, I decided to pop into the ER about the swelling.
I waited about 5 hours for a bed in sub acute area, one that did not come. They wound up sending me down to the minor treatment area to be seen quicker.
Blood work was fine, didn't show any heart issues causing the swelling. The dr chalked it up to the fluids I'd received on the 6th and sent me home.
I saw my family dr today and she prescribed me water pills, so hopefully that will help with the swelling. If it doesn't, I'm back to square one.
I am going for a cardiac ultrasound on the 24th, and follow-up with the cardiologist in January to see if this was a deeper issue.
Here's hoping I can get the swelling down, I can't wear shoes.

It's always a pain when a limb swells, particurally the feet. Not are the lowest part of the body, but it can be hard to stay off of them. That's always what's recommended. Hopefully the water pills help.

Its not good, I hope they figure it out. Drink lots of water, not to much because not good either to saturate your body, but take lots of things that thin your blood. Natural would be better asprin probably not good but if it is all you have.
Blood is what makes body swell. Keep your feet up. Do like little exercises off your feet. Rotate your feet, rotate your wrists. It well keep the pressure to where it does not swell or supposed, unless its even something else. It get more swelling, I am no doctor, but doctors do not tell a lot of things I learned in military. If that does not help it might be something else.
Cardiac could mean many things, it could also mean your immune system not working the way it should or liver or kidneys. Once their is toxins in body it will swell.
