Peanut on the tree

Years ago I bought an ornament for our Christmas tree. It's a little peanut shaped guy in a Santa hat. My grannie was such a character...she had the best sense of humor. She looked at that little guy and named him Jimmy Carter. You know, our former president who was a peanut farmer. She made the world's best chicken and pastry. And she's the one I got my love of singing from. She used to stand up at her pew in Church and sing a solo with no music. I sure do miss her.

Thanks, Judy. She was just a down home country woman, but she had class.

@kareng We had an 80 birthday party for her at church years ago. After everyone was seated, Grannie walked regally down the aisle waiving her hand like a queen. My uncle played his guitar and sang a song he had written, then my daughter played the piano and I sang a song I had written. Different ones stood up with warm wishes, then we had yummy dishes in the fellowship hall.
