Fed Up With Fed Ex Deliveries: How's the Deliveries in YOUR Area?

Fed Ex deliveries is a main topic of conversation on our local community page. Everyone is disgusted with Fed Ex. Why? Read on! 1) They leave packages at wrong houses. 2) They leave packages outside gates. (Can't blame them if gates are locked, but invitation for package to be stolen.) 3.) They leave packages in the yard and not by your door. 4) They are always late with deliveries by days. 4) The boxes arrive damaged, smushed, and even open sometimes. I'm sure there are more, but these are the main ones happening in our community. Every day we have 2-5 people posting photos of a label saying do you know xyz? I got their package today or a photo of their package delivered to an unknown residence and asking does this house look familiar to you so I can locate my package? I feel sorry for them since this is the holiday season and many contain gifts. We have had numerous packages left out in the rain somewhere in the yard. When something gets shipped Fed Ex, we know we will have a game of hide and seek to find the package. They have been left on utility trailer parked on the side of our house. They have been left on top of the garbage can numerous times, and also on the railing of the back of my husbands truck for everyone passing by to see. It does no good to complain, the manager there says they are overwhelmed with packages coming in. So, my question to you is, how is Fed Ex in your area and is Fed Ex this bad in your area as it is here? We are fed up with Fed Ex Photo Credit: Pixabay, Public Domain

The only thing that comes by FedEX is my husband's Formula for his peg tube. So I have no control over the tracking or anything like that. They are very good about putting them on the porch, but they don't ring the doorbell or knock so I know that they are out there. I suppose that's not their fault, but I live in Florida. I don't get any warning from the VA that the package is coming or when. I can't even track packages until a couple of days after they've been ordered. So, not knowing the boxes are out there is a big problem. And, because it's coming from the VA, I can't put a note on there asking them to knock. And, I have to keep George's cartons at room temp to keep it safe to consume. It scares me to use it sometimes because of hot it is here.

It seems like they could put a warning label on the package or use sign for delivery. That would be a good option, too!

@kaylachan Oh wow, I didn't know that about the signing for packages. Now they have the photo that they take to prove delivery was made.

@kareng Or put them where my doorbell camera can tell me something was delivered, too. But nope. Not that smart. Since COVID a lot of places have stopped doing the sign for deliveary option. I think Fedex is one of them.

I am fortunate and perhaps a bit spoiled by my Fed Ex guy. He is the guy who delivers the 50 pound box of dog chow. He makes sure that the box gets up onto my front porch so I don't have to wrestle it up the steps. He is very very nice and polite. This is the second year that he has gotten a gift card from me.

A long, long time ago, Fed Ex was the best around here, but not anymore.

I usually don't have many complaints about FedEx here, but the quality of service has taken a distinct nosedive since the holiday shipping season started. I usually don't have to worry about things arriving late, but I had to have an order of frozen rats replaced a few weeks ago because the driver just outright lied that he couldn't deliver my package due to "security restrictions at the apartment complex." They redelivered it the next day, so all of the dry ice had dissipated and the contents were up to 40 degrees F and unusable when I temped them. Aside from that, most packages come through just fine. We get up to 15 deliveries of parts from a supplier per week and I've only had to escalate two missing packages in the past year. They did just fine delivering my new laptop last month, too, but that also required a signature at delivery.

They used to do just fine for me until they got some new drivers in this area about a year ago. Now it seems they are all unreliable. Some don't even stop, just throw the packages out at the end of the driveway. We live in the country. Open invitation no matter where you live with packages sitting at the end of your driveway!

I get all of my packages from USPS. I only had trouble once in nine years from them.

We have a good carrier now. I do miss our first carrier we had when we moved here. He brought all packages to the back door instead of trying to stuff them however they can get them into our box. So rude. Hoping this new carrier stays good!

Oh yes. They were even leaving our packages in the ditch at the road in front of my house. It took me forever to find someone to remedy the problem. I contacted FedEx in Jackson.

The manager in McComb does nothing! We have all started contacting the companies we order from and telling them what is happening and asking them to please stop shipping with them. It is like they don't care at all!

I got back here yesterday and a FedEx truck was blocking my parking spot. Fine. He was gone in a couple of minutes. He left 3 of the 2nd floor neighbor's items on the ground floor. I looked to see whose they were and grabbed them and gave them to her. Not a fan of FedEx. They pull that "leave at the bottom" all the time.

Pretty got a new phone delivered by FedEx. It was left on our front porch by the front door and behind the brick railing. No complaints from us. Of course, we don't know about any of the neighbors' deliveries.
