Do I not play with Kitty enough? She challenged me to a boxing match this evening.

Is my relationship with Kitty too serious? I rarely tease her, and rarely put something in front of her that she can swat at.
Tonight, as I was heading out to get some Scotch, she challenged me to a boxing match.
We went at it for 30 seconds. She mostly missed my hand (on purpose) by about four inches, and of course I never got a blow in.
My incredible baseball player reflexes allowed me to get some good teases in, but I know she could have had my hand for lunch if she really wanted to.
She has her claws, and I have only...I don't know...
I think she retracts her claws when she attacks, but I am not 100 per cent sure.
As you know, I am NOT a cat person, and don't really know cat ways.
Do cats ever scratch during boxing matches?

It depends on the cat and the cat's mood. I have engaged in play time with cats- the cats always held their claws in. I know to not tickle the cat's belly. Some folks think it hilarious when the cat gets irritated by its belly being touched and then the cat does get mean. I don't think its funny.

I would never want to do anything that undermined Kitty's sense of safety. I am thinking of a scene from Lion King. I don't mind being humiliated. But I don't want to get hurt.

They can. It depends on if they get too over stimulated. But, they kind of learn not to injure humans and will naturally retract their claws. They often learn to do this when playing with each other.

@TheHorse You're her favorite and you pose no threat to her. So she's simply playig or trying to get your attention.

They can scratch for sure. I have an idea I read that, with their arms fully extended cats can't retract their claws but I'm not sure if that's correct or not.

Cats can be really nasty and purposely go after their owners. You are lucky that Kitty doesn't do that. Have a good day.

Sweet Miss Kitty would never hurt you. Buttercup grabs my pant legs when I walk by. Than he runs off and I chase him. We play this game every morning.
