Yesterday I learned that there is both a post office and a postal annex. I called the post office cause we have not been getting our mail. Post office said to call the Postal Annex. Huh? So I did and oooh that lady was not very nice and know what? I was not very nice either. My Grinch came right out. This morning hubby called the annex. He has much more patience than me. The old mailbox that we paid a good deal of money for was broken. (The carrier that retired dealt with it with zero issues.) So our mail was sitting somewhere other than with us. Within an hour the inspector showed up. We wired a rectangular box to the side of the front arch. He said it was fine- I don't want one on the house because the other issue is Rufus. Rufus dog is yes, a dog. He does not like the mail folks. They're not fond of him, either. That's why the mailbox went on the side of the front arch. The carrier can reach over the front gate and put mail into the box and not have to worry about dear mean sounding Rufus. So this morning we received Christmas mail as well as junk. My oh my on the Yule box from daughter. So much cheer. I think the shiny glittery bead ornaments are something she made. I am grateful to have the battle overwith. I had ahold of Rufus but I let him onto the front porch near the supervisor so that the two could meet and greet. Supervisor saw both Rufus and Moxe and said they were cute. Huge sigh from me. Merry done and over with.
