No Sun Here Lately, But the Camellias Are Brightening The Days Up!

We have had more gray days so far this winter than nice and mild sunny days. I hope that isn't an omen that the winter is going to be wet, cold, and gray for the rest of the season. Knock on wood!!
However, my camellias are starting to bloom and brighten up the yard. That is a very welcome sight. The photo above is from a camellia that I planted here about 7 years ago if my memory is correct. I know I planted it before my mother came to live with us in 2019.
This one is one of the "ruffled" camellias and it is a pretty red color. I think this one was called Curly Lady. I remember as a child that this was one of the varieties that my grandfather raised. We had over 100 camellia bushes in his yard and ours combined. It was such a beautiful sight when they were all blooming.
I think that is why I love camellias so much! They bring back such fond memories of my grandfather!
Do you have a favorite flower?

I don't really. But I do like that photo. We've had a mix of sun and clouds today.

@kaylachan Not this one. It is a young bush and has only bloomed for the last 2 years. This year it has a lot more buds on it.
The old tree is always covered!

It looks beautiful! One of my favorite flowers is the sunflower, which always puts a smile on my face when I see it. :)

Lovely photo. I can't believe that you have flowers blooming. It's going to be in the teens here!!!! I like carnations. Have a good weekend.

Pretty flower. And hope all this recent rain we're having will stop. October and November were so dry, guess December is making up for it. At least it is not snow. This time of year, I enjoy Poinsettias. They are so festive looking!

so "knock on wood" is universal saying
it's so nice that you're somehow keeping family tradition. i love all flowers that are given to me with love and good intentions. i was saving daisies and dandelions that were given to me by my students
