By the end of the day today a full one fourth of our students were absent due to illness.
We sent a steady parade of kids clutching waste baskets home.
Other kids have fevers.
There is at least one case of RSV.
We only have a half day tomorrow.
Superintendent says the only way he will cancel school is if the staff get sick in large numbers.
Bah, humbug.

Aww, that is sad. I hope they get well soon so they can enjoy Christmas. I remember having the mumps once over Christmas. That was not fun. I remember I came home from school and went right away to lay on my bed. My mom came in a bit later to try to tempt me with some fritos. I ate a few, I think I was a bit better by the time Christmas Day rolled around.

Best of luck to you all, Sounds like the trouble my mom had with me for several years right around Christmas, About two weeks before Christmas I was down with childhood illnesses but all right by the time Christmas arrived,

We've both been immunised against RSV now. They said it's recommended that the elderly and the young in particular be vaccinated against it.

RSV is not good. I'm glad the rehab facility gave my husband an RSV shot. I'm sorry so many kids are sick. Enjoy your Christmas break.

Sounds awful. If it wasn’t for a weekend then holiday break I’d guess a large number of the teachers would wind up being out sick too.

It sounds like it’s past time for the school officials to shut it down for a day and at least get the surfaces cleaned and sanitized before anyone comes back to school. Stay well, Heather!
