An evening visit. Dixie is stressed.

Dixie and Humberto came to visit me this evening. I told Dixie not to worry, but she must check all her ill loved ones. Humberto received the first scold because he asked me where the Jack Daniels was. I had to tell Dixie that the bottle was for Humberto and for me alone. Now I can´t drink with him because of the antibiotics but normally we´d drink together. That bottle in theory is half his. Then she had problems because her Christmas would have 2 more people (Humberto´s favorite cousin is very ill and his 2 children are coming from Australia to see their father maybe for the last time). As my life consists mostly of plans B (or C or even D) I understand that life has a way to turn things. But she said the bed was for ME and that Humberto could not offer it the the Australian family. And when I said that I could come to my house to sleep if we could find someone to bring me, Dixie did not like it either because it would be too late. Dixie is not like that. But the day she came to take me clothes to the hospital, she learned that an ill friend had died. Worse still, it was in another city and she went from my bed to the funeral. And Humberto´s cousin was in surgery and will probably undergo chemo too. So when she scolded me for the last time before going away because I should be wearing warmer clothes (it is very hot here) I put on a shawl until she went away. Humberto is as helpful as a man can be but with that sentence I rest my case. Being ill is good for reading. I´ll wait for Dixie to relax and maybe I can even tell her that I can have my Christmas at home by myself. After all, it is not as if I´m ready for a dance.
