Folks who are older than say, 30, might remember the buzz about deceptive commercials. What was it? Marbles in the soup to make the soup look fuller? Fake mashed potatoes? And on we went.
First time ever for me: I just finished a batch of sugar cookies that have all butter and no shortening in them. Powdered sugar instead of regular white sugar. I made the dough last night and put it in the fridge over night. I took the dough out this morning and whoa. A block of hard yellow clay lumped in the bottom of the bowl. Oooops. How to roll that out? I let the edible clay warm and gradually, very gradually I was able to pull pieces off the main monster.
I cut out squares and circles and flower shapes. The dough was thick but oh well. I sprinkled on red sugar cause its what I have in the rack. The cookies came out of the oven rather spread and large but quite tasty, with a crisp edge. Good enough. That's what I like. Something that isn't designer but is good enough.

Good enough is good enough. I've said that a few times in my past!
