I´ll spend my Christmas alone watching the small serial 100 years of solitude based on a book from our most beloved Colombian writer, Gabriel García Márquez.
Gabriel García Márquez is not only a Nobel prize winner. He managed to understand us, Latin American people, so well, that everyone of us feel that, when we read his novels we think that he wrote them specially for each of us.
He never wanted to turn his writing into films. But he told his family that should they do it, he wanted it to be made in Colombia and by Colombians. Now 2 of his sons are in charge.
Although if the seriel can be watched where you live, many of you will have to have it translated, do watch it. Several of my friends have already started doing it and it has been THE Christmas present for them.
See you later.

I am glad too. Besides being a wonderful writer, García Márquez always was close to his family.

I have read one book by Gabriel Garcia Marquez: Of Love and Other Demons. I read it when I was in 7th grade. The language was a bit difficult to understand at that age, but I understood the plot and enjoyed the book.

100 Years of Solitude was his main big work. If you like to read, I suggest that you give it a try although translations are not the same. His prose is very poetic and that might be lost.
