THE TITLE DOES NOT APPLY!!!!! I’d better get that out of the way quickly!!! We only have one “punk,” and that’s Crossbones…and he’s not a punk but more into punk music. So was I back in the 70s, which is why this song is here. Here’s today’s Judy song…and again, THE TITLE DOES NOT APPLY!!!!!
#6: Judy is a Punk - Ramones
Of course, everything was a punk to the Ramones. Like Sheena! (“Sheena is a Punk Rocker.”) The funny thing is that they never say “Judy is a punk” in this. Jackie is the punk, Judy is a runt! The entire song is silly, a cross between heavy influences of “I’m Henry the 8th I Am” (“second verse, same as the first”) and the old Burl Ives “There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly” (“perhaps they’ll die”).
And if you hate it, it’s only 91 seconds long.

There We go, my Favorite Ramones song by far. I also like "The Brat." Reminds me of my brothers dog, how much she annoys me, Luckily for her I do not have a baseball bat anymore.
She sure makes me miss Brooklyn. She was annoying also but did not sit at the top of the stairs barking at me till I play with her.

Haha, I see what you did there! You’re absolutely right—Judy isn’t a punk, and the title doesn’t apply. ?? But I love the playful energy in this post! The Ramones’ "Judy is a Punk" is definitely one of those iconic, quick-hitting tracks that packs a lot of fun into just 91 seconds. Classic punk simplicity with a bit of quirky charm!

I like a lot of the 70s punk because of when it was out, as the perfect antithesis to disco. Lots of Ramones song titles don’t fir (“Now I Wanna Sniff Some Glue,” for instance, also on this album), but they were just so much fun.
