A wonderful Christmas

This is the first Christmas in so, so many years that was wonderful.
Being one of the managers at work I volunteered to work Christmas Eve, it was high speed, get the customers out fast kind of day.
At the end of the day me and the store manager closed. We were only $1.43 short, which is awesome, meaning how busy we were every one did great and didn't panic.
On my way out she said wait a minute, I turned around and she handed me a Christmas card. When I got home I opened the card it read " thank you for all you do." And...there was a $25 Visa gift card inside. Best manager I ever had, no other manager or company I've worked for has given gifts.
I only had a few people over for dinner, got gifts that were exactly me!
It was a wonderful day!

That is wonderful to hear. 
I’m glad it went so well. My Christmas didn’t turn out how I planned due to so many family members getting sick, but it was still an okay day. I at least got a nice Christmas Eve with my dad and his wife. And boy did I get an amazing nap. After a few nights of no sleep, I sure needed it.

I'm glad you had a just reward. My husband and I went to a friends for a holiday meal. We ended up being in the middle of a family meal. Not really our people. Plus the turkey wasn't as done as it should have been- Hubby had some, I didn't. I had ham. He has gotten ill. Uh oh. Otherwise its been a blessed day, due to a sweet phone chat with daughter.

@sallypup You're welcome. It does sound like you all do better when you cook so you know things are more to your liking. There's a reason Pretty and I keep turning down invitations to go eat at family gatherings.

I'm glad you had a good Christmas. Mine was made pleasant by my husband's 2nd cousin. I had a visit with my husband, a home cooked meal and some tasty presents.

I am glad you had a wonderful day. Other than having to help clean up a disgusting mess from my hubby being sick, I had a good, peaceful day. I enjoyed the Christmas Eve service at my brother's church and we visited Christmas while hubby slept. Made it home again to my own bed. It is nice to be recognized at your work.
