Are you addicted to coffee?

I have before me a coffee cup....after lunch...its pretty cold out here, and this is my second cup in the day.
I have been drinking like this for the last fortnight or so. Skipping rice and curds, drinking coffee instead.
We do not have heating system, unlike the Western world. Not that it is a valid excuse...it does make me feel warm...so...
Just scared whether this is developing into coffee addiction..........
Basically, I do not need either tea or coffee in the mornings...that is just a chore...routine that everybody does, so do I.
I will not get headache if I don't take any beverage in the mornings. I, however, need about two glasses of plain water, room temperature.
Without it, my bowel movements are mission impossible.
So am I getting addicted to coffee...its fortnight since I have been drinking this....I shouldn't be because in the assisted living facility that I will end up in, they will not indulge me like this. That is the concern right now.
How many cups is too much? Will I become darker than chocolate brown? One of my friends says so.....tea is fine, coffee is not...why...well, I guess he has tea farms.
Everybody is so businesslike these days...sigh

I honestly don't like tea, so I drink coffee instead. But the morning thing...I have skipped several times, so I know I do not need it. The afternoon coffee that I have recently started taking, is something I really look forward to, and that is what is scaring me.

Two cups of coffee per day is not going to harm you. Seriously.

No, coffee actually isn't something that I drink everyday. Its just something I drink when I feel like it - may be like once a week at the very least.

Can't stand the stuff myself. I'm more of a tea granny...

I don't think a couple of cups is a problem.

How many would be? I mean, I can happily skip the morning coffee...and not feel something is amiss. But nowadays, I am kinda in a rush to finish my lunch so that I can drink a cup of coffee. This is strange, because, addiction if any does not depend upon time, does it? Moreover, it should be morning that I should be feeling more cold.

@vandana7 I don't think you are addicted but have just got into a habit that is enjoyable to you. And I have seen studies that say some every day is good for you.

I get a bad migraine if I start my day without nice, hot black coffee. I love my coffee!

I'm good, Vanny. Lots of people drink coffee. I've had to stop for several days at a time for medical tests, surgeries, etc. and I was fine. Coffee has many health benefits, look them up!

I believe you are taking this too much. Addiction is when you cannot live without tea or coffee and it is not when you are having 2 or 3 cups in a day especially in cold weather. In case m you prolong the behaviour for a 2 month period , we could be concerned. Then you can strictly keep a quota on things and over a priod of time reduce the usage or stop total consumption. The point is not to stop immediately as you would have tendency to go to things then quickly. Rather do slowly. Otherwise , I would say enjoy a cup of coffee or tea whichever you prefer and finds taste better. Have a great weekend ahead!

I like good coffee. That is just hard to find. I have tried so many and do not like any of them. I do order the occasional Latte which is the only way I like it nowadays. Some say too much coffee isn't good and others say it is.

I haven't had any coffee since my husband fell on February 1. He used to make me a cup of decaf every afternoon and serve it with a donut or muffin. I miss the coffee and him. Have a good weekend.
