I’m glad to see the back of Christmas for many reasons, but maybe especially that I can put over-indulgence behind me and return to appropriate and healthy eating once more.
Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy spending time treating myself to an evening of nibbles - stinking cheese, wine and crackers etc - but I am weak-willed and can’t stop until everything has been swallowed. I was in charge of cheese and wine at my daughter’s house this year and I found a wine emporium close to her house in Manchester which stocked wine from Lebanon. This country produces wonderful wine and it was a pleasure to introduce my son in law to it. He was sceptical at first, but is now convinced that wines from the Bekaa Valley are worth searching for in wine shops.
So the last few days have been helped along with Lebanese (and Greek and Moldovan) wine along with cheeses from everywhere, and my excessive indulgence is sure to have some gastrointestinal consequences in the days ahead.
This week shall be a time of readjustment and self discipline.
How are your eating habits over Christmas - glutinous?

Fortunately I had lost a couple of pounds before Christmas. I had a second helping of the turkey dinner; and my husband's cousin bought me several bags of my favorite candies. These will no doubt add a few pounds. Have a good weekend.

Eating habits means eating way to much foods for a couple of days. That is what I did.
