A Neighborly Change

United States

Buckle your seatbelts and brace yourselves. I am unsure what dimension I've been in recently. After over two years of being hateful and unreasonable, "the Delusional One" has not only been hospitable towards me, but she also gave me a Christmas present. I'm already legally blind, so I guess I know which way to go (if you catch my drift). But, Wow! I still don't trust her motives, though.

I do not blame you since when someone acts kind toward you after despising you in the past, it is best to be careful since it could be a ruse.

I will always be leery of her motive.

@Chellezhere That is true. Better to be safe than sorry.

Hopefully she is truly apologizing and wants to be friends.

I hope this is a true change, but I’ll cross my fingers since real changes from awful people are rare. You never know though.

Well, I think giving you a gift is the first step hopefully to a better understanding in the New Year

We'll see. She strongarmed her way into becoming Tenant Association President (I did not vote for her). Days before she gave me the gift, the annual Christmas potluck was held. Only seven (of 34) tenants showed up because most have had enough of her.

Yes, it was. I'll never trust her and she'll never win me over, but it was nice of her to include me. This was my third Christmas here.

That is the kind of people you have to watch closely. It sounds like you have her drift. Just stay alert!

Is there a method to her new madness? Hope things go alright.

I'll say! It was a box of homemade candy and cookies, but I still live (she gave it to me over a week ago).
