Don't have a clue

Look out! Incoming question for me: groan. Get ready and have the heat shield ready.
Poor hubby and his innocent question. Especially as I get older and look around at 'stuff.'
He prepares me: "We should talk about your birthday." OK. We have a couple of weeks for this. Then here it is: the bombshell. "What do you want for a birthday gift?"
Gulp. I don't know. Have not a clue. Don't need more stuff. Would not mind a 4 legged teacup cause I'm a goon but know what? The china cabinets overflow so forget that idea. If it wasn't raining a walk on a tree lined path would be super- if my back wasn't doing a wardance. But that's not a gift. We yakked and he went away. Hubby and daughter will be busy emailing now. We'll see. Meantime I will munch another sugar cooky. That much I can do.

Its hard to come up with gift suggestions when there isn't anything in particular you want. Hope they surprise you with something you love that is totally unexpected

What about a massage? Lots of people get those for gifts. I mention that because it would probably be good for you and relaxing as all get out. I decided to treat myself to one with some Christmas money. I found a groupon deal for an inexpensive place. Or since hubby doesn't seem to like to go on day trips that much,I might request he go with you.

@sallypup I think if you discuss your sensitivites in advance, they will honor them. You usually fill out a form in the beginning if you are feeling pain..or what is hurting. If you don't like the massage idea maybe you could try acupuncture or cupping like Amber does.I really think though if you got a massage, you will wonder why it took your so long.

@snowy22315 Thanks for the suggestion. I am leery of massages. Almost every time the physical therapist touched me it hurt. A massage sounds like torture to me.

I think that is how it is nowadays, instead of surprise we ask our loved ones what they like for a birthday gift. This is because it is difficult to think of what to buy.

I hate being asked what I want... If I wanted something, I'd just say what it was and see if that's what I get... If not, whatever someone feels like getting me is fine. *shrug* I don't know why people do that.

@sallypup Exactly... And there's always the possibility that the other person can't afford to get me anything at all... and that would be fine, too.

How about a gift card? Your favorite restaurant? Amazon? The older we get the harder it is to think of things. How about a food/candy item? Good luck! Have a good weekend.

You could ask for a gift of time with your husband and daughter, and anyone else close to you. Maybe a special weekend away somewhere with them? Making special memories…
