Will you make any New Year's Resolutions this year?

I won't make specific resolutions, but I know what my goals are and will work toward them. If I tell myself I will do certain things, I rarely do..so just keeping an idea of what I want to accomplish and taking small steps toward that works for me.

The only New Year's Resolution I have ever kept was when I resolved not to make any more resolutions. I now have my resolution permanently set at 1920 x 1080

I have told myself this year I’m going to say yes to more things, but I’m not really feeling a “yes” mood lately. I want to yes to more opportunities even if it causes me a bit more discomfort physically. After all, pain is always going to be there. I might as well just deal with a little bit more.

I can understand your feelings about this, Amber. I woke up one day and realized that if I wait to do something until I feel really good, I won't ever do anything special...sucking it up isn't always very easy, but it is often very worth the effort.

For me it is a round the year affair. Never a New Year resolution

I'd like to set resolutions and have done in the past but then, a week into New Year, I can't remember what they were.

I am not going to be specific either, but I plan to be more organized. Small steps is a good plan! Perfect one, and go a little further!

I haven't made resolutions in years. But I do hope to make leaps and strides in certain areas of my life - too many to list. I'm just gonna take these things one day at a time . . . small steps like you said.

The book Atomic Habits says to aim for 1 percent improvements. Admittenly that is not much, but if you do 1 percent one week, and then 1 percent the next. It all adds up over time.

@snowy22315 I like the idea of that - 1%. Less pressure. But still effective as long as you keep going.

@snowy22315 I am worried about Beau Teak kitty. I give him kitten pate now cause its fattier and has vitamins etc. He still screams for food about five times a day. Not joking.

@sallypup OH I can relate honestly.Nico is always hungry. He pretty much seems to just want attention though. He will do the yelling thing even when he has food in his dish.

I always resolve to lose weight. After all the candy that my husband's 2nd cousin gave me, I will definitely have to shed some pounds. Have a good day.

I think I might find it impossible to lose weight in your situation, but maybe you could focus on healthier eating, or a good thing is to ask yourself What would a thin person do? that helps me stay in check a bit. It doesn't mean I can't eat it, I would just eat a lot less of something.

I am not going to make any New year resolutions for next year. There are many I have made and none sucessful. While I was in school and college, I would vow to be more studious and work hard on my subjects. Never happened the way I wished for .Sometimes, I did have multiple challenges to tackle. Most times I would lose the interest and remember my New Year resolution when the year ends. So, this time , I have specifics goals in my mind and would have to work on those and with conviction. Would love to achieve them but then do not want to classify them as New Year resoluton. Take care!

Resolutions are definitely hard to stick to. Like if I made one such as Stop Impulse buying, the sooner I ran into an impulse buy I liked, and had to resist..the more deprived and upset I would feel. It might be better to say try to keep impulse buys under 5.00 as a general rule of thumb, or keep the things I buy like that to Do I love it? Will I use it? Do I need it? Instead of just grabbing something because I had to have it in the moment.

I did think about making resolutions but I will not. I'm sure I once resolved to make no more resolutions. I have achieved nothing this year, really. I try to give myself goals but I find it easier, and more successful, if I make small goals when I know I'm prepared to put in the effort to achieve them.

Right, I agree. Why set yourself up to fail? Maybe the only one I was successful with and it is a big one was stopping smoking.
