Truck shopping and the rest of my day

Today my husband, my little one and I went out truck shopping. It will be his vehicle so I left all the searching and decisions up to him. We visited 5 or so dealerships and decided on one he will pick up on Monday. It will be his first ever brand new truck.
I haven’t had much time to read this month so I enjoyed getting to read a bit on the ride.
A few months ago I won a gift certificate to a restaurant. Since we were in that area today we stopped in for dinner. None of us liked it very much unfortunately. Luckily it only cost us $20 which included the tip.
Right across the street was an easy to find geocache so I signed the log on that while my little one searched for mermaids in the freezing water below. That earned me a new souvenir on the app.
After we got home my little one and I undecorated the tree and my husband took it outside. I believe he and my stepson want to burn it tomorrow. It’s so dead I’ve never seen a tree so droopy and flat like that before. What a mess how much pine needles fell off. I got almost all my Christmas decor put away as well. I’m doing a Christmas in July event so I have to set some things aside for that.
Photo is unrelated to my post. It’s a beautiful pair of candles I saw at an antique shop months ago.

@much2say I can’t imagine anyone wanting to light the candles either they are just too nice.
I have almost everything from Christmas put away except for blankets and and a wreath. I simple can’t fit the blankets into the totes with all the new ornaments and decor I got so I have to figure out something to do soon.

Really cool candles. Sorry the restaurant was a disappointment. I hope your husband enjoys his truck. Have a good day.

@LindaOhio oh he is loving his new truck! So many fancy new features on it. But now he’s gotta but all these other things for it like getting a spray undercoating, front and back seat covers, plastic covers for inside the doors etc. the seat covers alone are $600. So if he mentions me wasting gas again I’ll loose my mind. My car gets like 30mpg on the highway. His truck gets 18.

@shaggin Men! They're all the same, aren't they? But you've gotta love them!

What a ducky candle that is. I'd cut the wick off so no one would be tempted to light it.

@BarbaraPrz that’s a pretty good idea. It would be so sad to see something so beautiful get burned.

You mean you kept a live tree inside It surely needed watering

@allknowing no it was cut by the tree farm and my husband brought it home in early December. Usually they suck up a ton of water daily but this didn’t.

Somebody did a really nice job with the candles. I thought they were carved from wood until you said they were candles.

Cute candles. We stopped doing a live tree because of the mess

@wolfgirl569 if my husband was the one who had to sweep it up all day long maybe he would stop buying a live tree too.
