12/29/24 - Update On My Husband

He didn't call and there was no answer at the facility so I couldn't get a message to him to call.
We are going to pick up Personal Pan Pizzas from Pizza Hut today. The one right down the street from the facility opens at 11 am. We will all enjoy a pizza treat.
I won't be seeing my hubby on New Year's unfortunately. His cousin is taking me to see him today, coming over Monday to do the trash, etc. and coming over on Wednesday to make a pork roast and sauerkraut meal for us. She feels it's not as important a holiday as Christmas; and she wants some time to herself. I can understand that.

I love those personal pan pizza's they are so fun. When I was a kid they used to give those out for just reading. How they got kids to learn to read and then at the end they would let you come to the restaurant and put your name on the wall. I am not sure what America is teaching anymore but its not that.
Anyway, Sorry about New Years, but at least someone nice enough to let you see him today. Sure sounds hard, but life has never been easy, nice people try to make it a bit easier for us.

Yeah, kids today are more interested in technology. I'm disappointed about New Year's but at least I can see him today.

@LindaOHio I wouldn't recommend barefoot in ohioh winters, but ride share people will typically help you get inside and to where your husband is, if you ask them. Or, even go inside and get an aide to help you. I've had drivers do that for George and Me, when I'd take him to the VA. You also know, you qualify for para transit services if you're elderly and or are disabled. Your doctor can typically help you sign up for the service, because it usually requires them to fill out a form explaining why you need the services. And, before you say you don't think Ohio doesn't have something like that, I know it does because my friend used it to get to appoitments when her mom or uncle couldn't do it.

I have one neighbor that I know pretty well. I wouldn't ask her to take me. She's always busy or working. The ride share people would have to put my shoes and socks on and take me by wheelchair to see my husband.

I am sure that the pizza treat will bring a smile to everyone's faces.
I hope that it is a wonderful visit.
I don't think that New Years is as important a holiday as Christmas, maybe because they are only a week apart, because new years is an important day.

NO NO NO!!!! Thank you so much for the offer; but I would never accept money from any of my friends here. Besides, the cab driver would have to put on my shoes and socks!!! Thank you again for the offer.

I’m glad you’ll see him today. And bringing those pizzas should certainly bring a smile to his face. It would have been great to see him on New Years, but like you said, it’s understandable she’d want some time for her. I just wish she could do both.
