Brooke Comer who is the owner of a female German Shepherd named Athena who got lost in Green Cove Springs is happy that her dog who disappeared from her home on Sunday December 15 was sad that she would see her dog again. Brooke was shocked to learn that her dog managed to return to her home on Christmas Eve when her dog rang the doorbell of her home. Brooke admits that she and her family dodged a bullet that her dog who was not microchipped which has changed her views of getting her dog microchipped in the future. Another very good Christmas holiday for a family who did receive the good news of their lost pet who is four years of age returning home. Link is nbc-2.com/article/florid...

What a nice story. The microchip is great for those who can afford such things.

That is true since two of my cats have been microchipped recently.

I agree with you that a microchip is very useful for the location of lost pets.

Many places offer low cost microchipping. Our county here does, for $10 they have microchip clinics. For seniors and disabled people, there is no cost.

Wow, I think they had a very memorable and heartwarming Christmas Eve. Not every lost pet are able to find back their way home.

I know what you mean since if I owned a dog like Athena after over a week on the streets, I would be very happy.

I doubt my dog would come back if they get lost. Maybe some people will post in social media about it. Smart dog. Now that's a worthy Christmas gift.

That is a bit of a miracle, if the dog really rang the doorbell, and maybe it was a kindly neighbour, who found the dog, returned it, and then rang the bell, before walking quickly off.

This was touching story. Dog reaching out using scent to the home and that too on Christmas eve. This is touching and it did bring joy and tears to eyes. I could feel the joy of the family and dog and that too on a special day of the year. It also shows the fact , we need to microchip our pets. Perhaps the Government should make it mandatory for all pets or atleast for cats and dogs. And as always - thank you for sharing such wonderful and inspiring news with all of us here in mylot! Thank you!
