A New Twist on Dinner

I had this post all ready to go and went to grab a photo when poof, the electricity went out. So I am re-composing it as best I can. I had pork steaks thawed out to cook last night and I asked my husband if he had an requests on how to cook them. He said, "breaded, please. Those were so good that you fixed the last time." So breaded pork chops were on the menu! When I was preparing the pork chops, I remembered that I had some crushed graham cracker crumbs, honey flavored left over from the Moose Farts at Christmas. I added them to the seasoned bread crumbs after I seasoned the pork steaks. I thought they came out just fine and enjoyed the sweetness the honey added. My husband, on the other hand did not like the addition of the graham cracker crumbs. I should not of even mentioned that I added them and he would have been just fine. That is what we had for dinner last night. I am just glad that it got done before the lights went out! What did you have for dinner last night? Do you like to tweak regular recipes? You are absolutely right that if if you hadn’t mentioned the tiny change he never would have known. These men… Have you ever had chicken rolled/“breaded” in corn flakes? Honey corn flakes are even better because there is more of a crunch when you eat the chicken. Since you bake it, it doesn’t even take too long to cook.

Yes, it makes for a completely different taste and dinner vs. other ways to fix pork chops or port steaks.

I like anything breaded or crumbed. Vince thinks it is a way to hide imperfections but he indulges me and crumbs chops, etc quite often.

Yup. He never would have known. My hubby was the same way. I used to tweak recipes all the time. I just used a recipe as a starting point. I had leftover Pizza Hut pizza last night. Have a good week.
