Remembering Yvette. Coincidence or what?

Sometimes it’s a coincidence, sometimes there’s more to it and it’s hard to know if today’s little surprise was a coincidence or a merry happenstance.
At each year’s end I’m given to a bout of melancholic nostalgia, and I turn my fancy to my many tomes of French poetry. We all have our foibles - don’t judge.
While leafing through some of Baudelaire’s verse there arose from the graveyard of my memories (sweet or otherwise) a vinyl recording I bought and listened to of Yvette Mimieux reading excerpts from Baudelaire’s “Fleurs du Mal” collection. She was accompanied by Ustad Ali Akbar Khan and his ensemble of Indian musicians. All very esoteric, and the verse and music floated through the rooms and corridors of my house over the course of my sixteenth summer. My parents were very patient.
I though I had finished enjoying that little memory and sat down to frivolate in front of the TV and on came an episode of the Big Bang Theory, during the course of which mention was made of none other than Yvette Mimieux! You’ll remember that she starred in the film “Time Machine” in the 60s around the time she recorded those poems with Ali Akbar Khan. That’s what the reference concerned.
Coincidence or what? No-one ever mentions her anymore.
Excuse me, are you still listening? Please keep up.

That is a coincidence. I remember the Time Machine and Miss Mimieux very well. I wax nostalgic almost every day, running the 60s and 70s occurrences over and over in my brain. Wishing you and your family a very Happy New Year!!!

Yes, I recall her in Time Machine and several others. Some say there are no coincidences. I've been keeping up all evening.
