Checking In!

Hey everyone. I'm just checking in here. I am still in Lafayette babysitting. I was trying to catch up on notifications using one of my grandson's gaming mouses, but it eventually quit working. My space bar pad on my laptop is going out. It works sometimes and sometimes not. That is why I got a new tower computer for my desktop at home. I wanted to try to stay active here while here with my granddaughter, but the forces have been against me. Today, when my daughter came home from work for lunch I mentioned going to Walmart when she got off and getting a new mouse. She came home from work with a new mouse for me. Her boss told her to tell me to keep it. He is such a nice guy!! So I am trying to catch up some tonight! Bear with me. I just wanted to throw up a post to let you all know I'm here and alive! I hate when that happens. I am amazed my keyboards are lasting as well as they have. I use them for layered key commands because of screen readers. I still can not use mylot totally with my keyboard, but I'm working on it.

I can wear a keyboard out in no time. Laptops are not my friend!!

@kareng I love laptops, but I would break the keyboard in less than a year. Complex windows commands and keystrokes are not your friends. I seem to do a lot better with mac, but then again I don't have as many layered keystrokes or complex keyboard combintions to conntend with.

@kareng I never thought about it, but with all the writing I do, maybe that's why keyboards are the first thing to go for me.

My New Year's Eve was quiet. It brought back a lot of memories about past NYE that I spent with my husband. Happy New Year!!!

Happy New Mouse (and New Year's Eve)! It helps greatly when your equipment cooperates. Today I took my mom grocery shopping. Later the family went for a walk. Now I'm trying to get out NYE dinner. Wishing you a wonderful New Year!!

I had a nice, quiet day. I enjoyed that Boca Burger so much that I’d forgotten how much I love them, so I stopped by Meijer for a couple more packages of them (just in case we do get the “dirty S word” stuff this weekend and I can’t go out). That’s very sweet of your daughter’s boss giving you the mouse.

That cold stuff hits us on January 6th and we will have 5-6 nights in the 20's. That is NOT my kind of weather and I may head back to my daughter's in Lafayette for a day or two. I am wishing there--my hubby is not going to want to take care of all of the animals all by himself again so soon!

She has been very hyper and finally in bed tonight. Yay. Peace and quiet!! She has been good all day yesterday and today. Sometimes they like to push the parents and that seems to be what she has been doing both last night and tonight. Her mom will ask her to do something and she shrugs it off. I ask her and she will go do it. Then when bedtime comes it is time to negotiate.

Yes, and totally unexpected. I really didn't feel like going to Wally World though after the traffic and rush errand to get the grandson's wallet to him before being late. That pretty much had me a nervous wreck.

I have a couple of keys going wonky here as well. And it's a fairly new computer so I am not sure what the deal is. I can work around it, though, thankfully. For now. I have a USB keyboard I could resort to if it ever became absolutely necessary.

@kareng No, they sure aren't. Just like everything else. At least they are cheaper these days. I remember my first computer cost over $3,000.
