Today I came home from my oldest daughter's house in Lafayette. I go though the town one of my twin daughter's lives in, so decided to stop in and say hello and see what Santa brought the kids there.
I had just found out yesterday that they had adopted a new puppy. He's about 16 weeks old to 20 weeks old I'm guessing.
The story behind this puppy is that his mother and brother were both run over by some crazy fool...on purpose! My daughter's brother in law picked him up and brought him to them. They lost their dog a couple of months ago due to cancer. The kids were very excited and this little guy seems to be fitting in very well.
He will be going to the vet as soon as my daughter can get him an appointment on one of her days off. He had multiple scrapes and cuts on him, but he seems to be healing very well.
His name is Copper and he is very well behaved. He seems to be learning his name and learning commands very well. I think he will be a great pet for them.
I am guessing that he has some Pitt in him. What do you guys think? Pitt? And what else pops for you?

I'm glad they're being responsible about it. It's sad that some people have no common sense. It's one thing if the person didn't see them, but to go out of their way to do it. Well, that's crazy.

@kaylachan Right! Apparently there were 2 witnesses, but I suppose they didn't call the law because they themselves don't want to get in trouble or be looked up to see they have bench warrants, unpaid fines, etc. on the books.

@kareng But, he won't. And, that's what's so wrong here. Even here in Florida, where we don't play, that'd be hard to prove. Unless the dude was caught on camera deliberitly running over the dogs, it'd be rulled as an accident and he would've recieved a lesser charge. If f the charges aren't dismissed altogether. Because our jails are filled with people who aren't really bothered by living in there.

@Juliaacv I have always thought that too, but have seen a couple of news stories in the past when one has been a pet for years and then turns on the owner. Of course, we don't know the whole story, but always something to keep in mind--especially where children are concerned.

Definitely Pitt. That's a pity about his mom and brother. People can be so cruel. I'm glad you were able to visit family. Have a good day.

@LindaOHio Thanks, not much planned. We have a bad storm coming through on Sunday and dipping into the low 20's Sunday night. So nothing really planned. I did not make it to the flea market today, and probably won't tomorrow either. Oh well.

Yes, I agree. Some Pitt, and maybe some type of hound. Going to have big feet. So sweet, and I am glad he was rescued. People who mistreat animals deserve to go to jail. Oh, and I hope if they get there, someone loses the key.

@kareng Deplorable, yes. But there is a lot of animal neglect and abuse. We are supposed to be the stewards of the animals. Not enough people are prosecuted for what they do to animals, and I wish more had to answer for that.

That's horrible. I'm glad that someone got this little guy. Yes, maybe a little Pitt--but my brain can't come up with anything else. Cute, regardless.

@kareng My first thought was some kind of hound. Should be able to tell more as he grows
