Here We Go

Here we go back to work again. I love the holidays, but with the holidays falling midweek, it has been quite a confusing week or two. I feel like I have had 4 Mondays in just 2 weeks of time. Today is a short work day as I finish early on Thursdays, and as much as it feels like a Monday, it is not-thankfully. I do love it when they sneak my direct deposit in, a bit earlier because of the holiday. I checked my bank balance yesterday and was happy to see it there, normally it would have gone in last night, but there are no transactions on a holiday such as New year's Day. With everything closed yesterday for the holiday, I couldn't spend it, but I was able to send an e-transfer to move the money over into our main account at another financial institution. Just two more working days and another Monday..........

Time really flies. We're in 2025 already. Chinese New Year is at the end of January. Shops here are now changing decorations.

Your post just reminded me to go pay me rent today. They make us go to the bank to pay with a cashiers check, so I’m glad I read your post.

I hope this first day back to work isn’t too strenuous. Hopefully, the work hours go by quickly.

I am glad that I reminded you. It was super busy today, so much so, that I stayed an extra 30 minutes to help my coworkers. Every little bit helps.

Having a holiday like this falling mid week can really mess up your days. It seemed like Sunday all day yesterday, and when I first woke up I thought it was Monday.

Yes, it hasn't been easy. Today at any given time we had 1,500 calls in cue waiting to be answered, you just could not keep up. And the next week or so will be no better.

I am also confused when the holidays fall midweek, but Monday is Epiphany day and it's another holiday here.

Lucky you that you have that holiday. Next week will be our first full week in a few. It will feel like a long week, but after that is over, I should be used to it again.

You make me laugh. I worked at a place back about 15 years ago. I had 3 friends who would always take their lunches with me. I remember walking out of the lunchroom one day, in single file, with our hand on the shoulder of the friend ahead of us, and singing hi ho........ We actually got into some trouble because we were not all scheduled for our lunches at the same time, I guess some people are not fans of that song.

@RasmaSandra It was hilarious, we were all laughing while we sang, but the others who were working didn't like it. We all got a sit down talking to. It didn't change anything.

Yes, here too, it has been terrible. Just today and tomorrow and then next week will feel very long but at least it will be back to normal.

She is quite a senior dog. She always had a very sensitive stomach, and that is amplified now and if she drinks too much too fast then she will get sick, she is slower to move and more of a cuddler than not. I think that she misses the one-on-one that she was spoiled with all of her life before the twins arrived. She loves it when they play with her or lie with her, but she misses our son and his wife alone time.
