Naughty Boy Speeding Awareness course in the snow.

A good while before dawn today I arose and sallied forth to attend my Naughty Boy Speeder Safety Awareness Course - I was caught bombing through sleepy Ballygally at 37 mph a few months ago. Most of these courses are conducted on line, but I elected to attend an in person course because I didn’t want to cut the eyes out of myself slouching over my phone for 3 hours. And I’m tech phobic. The course was in a hotel 30 minutes drive from me and started at the ridiculous hour of 8am. So I set out in the dark and it started to snow. I put on the sat nav on my phone and a pleasant sounding young man led me up over a snow bound mountain pass since that was the most direct route. Be wary of pleasant sounding young men. Anyway I got there with 5 snowy minutes to spare and the course happened, with a few noteworthy observations. The gender balance was interesting - 4 women and 20 men. I also expected all attendees to be like me - tech phobic and aging. But no. There were quite a few young boy racer types and I’m not sure why they opted for the in person show. And one man fell asleep several times and got told off each time. It was not me. And now I’m a very speed-aware driver.

Did you get to see car crash videos? I was in a Bad Boy class once. I forget what I did. But I remember the car crash videos. Mine was at a hotel as well.

@thehorse We just got the stats, no visuals. I used to work in reception in the ER so I’ve seen enough decapitations and entrails.

My dad had to go to go to one of those too. He also noticed the gender imbalance, with close to the same count as you. At the time though, he was not given an option to do it online. I think 12 years ago they were still making you come in person, at least here in Oklahoma.

My son did something wrong on his pushbike - no helmet maybe? Can't remember. I had to attend with him. Very embarrassing at the time. Funny now, sort of. lol
