A waste of $100

My mom had a rattling noise when her central heat turned on. Her friend said there may be something wrong with the motor. She called someone to come and take a look.
Turned out there was a piece of paper stuck in the unit and it was making that noise. Once the paper was removed no more rattling noise could he heard. The cost of the visit $100.
I could’ve opened the unit myself, taken a look inside, and spotted the paper and taken it out. Would’ve saved my mom money. But I didn’t do that because she thought it was an issue with the motor as per her friend.

It never crossed our minds that a piece of paper could be causing this noise.

I'm sure you could've. But, I see her side, too.

It would’ve probably cost a lot more if the unit needed to be fixed.

Maybe next time you will open up the unit. Have a good day.
