A Perfect Meme for Me

Have you ever come across a meme that described you perfectly? My daughter sent this gem to me recently, and it describes me perfectly. I am the type of person who can literally nap anytime, anywhere, and under almost any condition. We could be in the middle of a nuclear holocaust and I’ll be able to take a nap.
And @thislittlepennyearns, it’s not because I’m old! I’ve had the gift of nap since I was a child. In fact, I napped my way through most of my high school and college years.
How about you? Can you nap on demand like I can? Do you have a favorite meme that perfectly describes you?

That's funny.
My Dad was like that too.
It was all fine until one hot summer afternoon in a church, at my cousin's wedding, when he began to snore during a quite time in the ceremony. Then it was not so fine-my mother was furious. But it was hilarious because my memory outlived the marriage.

That was my dad. He’d say he was going to watch a movie and my standard reply was, “Sleep well.” I don’t know how many times he had to let a movie play before he actually saw it all.
I can’t really “sleep on demand,” but naps are a part of my daily routine.

If it’s a good movie, I will stay awake through its entirety, no matter how tired I am. I tend to take advantage of “downtime” periods throughout my day to catch a few zzzz’s

@Tina30219 I don’t think I have ever napped at the movies—especially with the high cost of tickets and snacks—but I have napped through movies while at home on the couch.

@moffittjc Cause not much keeps their attention for long? I know, not the case always and depends on the environment.

From all the comments, napping seems to be a trait of men more than women. I wonder why that is?

@kareng It could be. But maybe it also has to do with the fact that men are such simple creatures.

@moffittjc doesn’t work for me at night either. I have a hard time falling asleep then too but it’s possible unlike when I’ve tried to nap.

Somehow, I learned a long time ago to shut my brain off quickly when it comes to napping. But for some reason I don’t have the same ability when it comes to going to sleep at night.

@shaggin I wonder why I can shut my brain off quickly to nap, but can’t do the same when it’s time to go to bed at night? I wonder if it has to do with the fact that I am a night owl by nature?

My husband is getting there. He seems to take at least one a day.

@kaylachan In order for me to sleep at night, I have to be in total darkness; but for naps, you can shine a spotlight on me and it won’t matter.

Well, that stinks. I think I would be a very grumpy person if I couldn’t get in any naps throughout the day.

Are you sure you don't have narcolepsy? I can"t even nap when I want to

No, I’m sure. But my brother-in-law dated a girl with narcolepsy. It was crazy how she would just zonk out right in the middle of something. For that reason, she couldn’t drive because of the danger involved. For me, I am still in control of my napping, where someone with narcolepsy can’t control when they fall asleep.

You have the gift of snooze - lucky you! I "can" nap, but in most cases I don't have the time. And even if I could, I can fall asleep quickly, but my problem is I can't stay asleep to nap for long (15 minutes and I automatically wake up).

@moffittjc I guess that's like a power nap, right? The thing is I'd like a longer nap . . . for me I'm not completely refreshed. A 10 hour nap would be good .

I am the same way when it comes to length of my naps. I’m good for about 15 minutes and my brain suddenly snaps back on. But even so, I always feel refreshed.

That is funny you say that because my stepdad use to always fall asleep on the toilet and we would always have to go in and wake him up.

@Tina30219 I could understood if I was in a deep sleep that perhaps I might fall back asleep while getting up to go to the bathroom.

@moffittjc I can imagine, What I really hated was falling asleep or nodding off in some class at university, To wake me up one time I thought of slamming my book shut instead I slammed my nose in the book as my eyes closed,

I have fallen asleep standing up before. Needless to say, it’s hard to stay standing when you’re fast asleep. I found out the hard way!

@RasmaSandra Did slamming your nose in the book jerk you back awake, or did you continue down into the world of slumber?

That meme is so funny. I nap most every day around 3pm with absolutely no problem. My trouble is going to sleep at night even if I don't nap.

Vince used to sleep through sermons in church. He'd be sitting up straight with his eyes closed. Whenever I tried it, my head would jerk and I'd wake up.
