I do not know when it was the last time I visited a hospital or a doctor I did only once in the last few years when I had that nagging cough and that required a physical check up by a doctor I have a few doctors who let me speak to them over the phone and most of the time what they prescribe over the phone works for me. I just called up regarding some pain I am having in my joints and the doctor prescribed Hifenac 100 mg. I have yet another facility where the pharmacy guy delivers the medicines. Am I not blessed!!!

I wish we were able to so that more often here. Insurance companies don’t allow it very often.

@allknowing I’m blessed with great health, but I dread the day when aging leads me to so many doctor’s appointments.

@allknowing I have spent a lot of time in my job with elderly people who have far more doctor’s appointments than social appointments. Let’s hope we stay as healthy as possible for as long as possible.

Although we have good insurance, I do not go to the doctors . For now I think I am in pretty good health. My husband and mother have found most excellent doctors for themselves . . . it truly is a blessing to find trusted medical professionals.

@allknowing A hospital run by nuns - interesting! Out there the nuns seem to do so much for their communities!

Video consultation is available in India. Some hospitals offer doctors on call to visit patients at home too.

That used to be in the good old days but these days I do not think doctors visit patients in their home.

@Shiva49 That does not exist here where a nurse accompanies the doctor

@allknowing In Kerala, most hospitals offer such a service. Doctors along with nurses come calling on request. Whatever treatment can be given at home is given.

Telehealth is a very useful tool when it comes to talking to doctors and getting medicines. For minor issues where hospital visit could be taxing due to time and effort , telehealth can solve in a easy and effective way. And ordering medicines well now we have many apps which allow the medicines to be delivered at doorsteps with just prescription upload .Even if presceription is not available , the virtual consulting doctor could make one and can still be delivered. Yes , it is a blessing to have those services and the other best part is most of us are able to utilise that service. Well, take care!

It's helpful to know some doctors who we can contact in times of our need. We have a doctor who is always available at his chamber and at his house.
