A guy just came round to check on our radiators.

Our radiators weren't working on Saturday and Sunday. My Mum noticed on Friday night that the radiators weren't working because it was very cold. She checked some of the radiators and they were tepid. When I came in on Saturday morning my Mum asked me if I was cold in the night, and I said, Yes! Freezing! It was the same on Saturday night, so on Sunday Syd phoned for a guy to come round to look at them. He sent them a WhatsApp message on his phone. Then, because it was perishing cold, I put my little heater on for a while. Then, about 3:00pm in the afternoon, the heating came back on, and the heater's were scorching hot! We couldn't understand why the heating hadn't been working, and then suddenly it came back on! Anyway, Syd messaged the guy on WhatsApp again saying the heating had come back on, but he could come round anyway just to check it. So, the guy came round this morning around 10:00am. I had to move some bags of handmade cards that I'd made so that he could get to the living room radiator. He checked the radiators, and they were working. He looked at the pump in the airing cupboard, and it was working fine, as was the boiler. Then he put the thermostat up a bit so he could observe how it heated up, and to see how the pump and boiler worked, and everything was fine. He said it had probably been caused by a pocket of air which has now dispersed. Anyway, he didn't have to do anything, and he put the thermostat back to 22 and went. So that's been our morning. I put the laundry on later because of the guy coming, although in the end it wouldn't have mattered! What are you lot getting up to today? I hope you are all well. Have a nice day.

I'm well. I'm glad to know your problem is finally solved. It is very cold here today. I didn't feel like coming here on my lot; because it's too late. I can now study for half an hour only. How are you??

@sharonelton Thanks. I think what your mom thinks is right. They might be on a timer. I have put on warm cloths. It's so cold here. Going by the forecast; we are heading to face a cold wave.

@Shivram59 You're welcome. Yes, I think so too. We really want it on constant. I'm wearing my thermal top under my jumper, but it still isn't keeping me warm! It's very cold here too. I hope it doesn't get too cold for you. I hope you are well. Have a nice day.

We're hoping to get our dryer fixed today. It just stopped working. We've been using our fireplace to limit our central heat

Our washing machine packed in, in 2022, I think it was. We got a new washing machine, bit it took ages to get someone to come and connect it to the water system!

@sharonelton I miss when people got to you in a relatively decent time. Now it's like everyone takes their time

@sharonelton Major panic, the thought of no heat in winter. And all the system needed was to pass wind. Good that passing wind doesn’t cost anything.

No, it's not nice to have a cold house in winter. Yes, that's what it was! Nope, it didn't cost a penny!

Ha! It went off in the night. And, of course, when it comes back on, it takes ages to warm up. So now I'm cold again! My Mum thinks it's on a timer instead of being constant, and she wants Syd to put it on constant, but he's deaf and he can't hear her! (He's not completely deaf, he's got what I call "selective hearing!" ) You have to shout at him to make him hear, and then he'll say, You don't have to shout!

@LindaOHio Yes. But it's going to cause a bit of disruption on Wednesday when they come to flush them out!

Well it went cold again later, you probably know, so we called another guy out, and he checked everything and said we've probably got a blockage or obstruction in the pipes so we've got to have our radiators flushed out on Wednesday! I hope your husband's cousin managed to help. Thank you very much. I hope you are well. Have a great night.
